St Anne's Infants' School

Reach for the Stars

Welcome to Supernovas

Hello and welcome to Supernovas.

At St Anne's Infants' School we endeavour to ensure that every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.  In Supernovas we follow a specialised curriculum which links closely with the National Curriculum. This provides the children with opportunities to learn and understand emotions - both their own and other's; to build relationships with peers; to develop social skills and a focus on building our resilience.

On this page you will be able to find out more about what we have been learning.

Our daily routine

We have been welcoming new friends into Supernovas, we have helped them get to know us and to learn the routine in Supernova class. This term we will continue to explore our feeling and emotions during in circle times, we will also be practising our speaking and listening skills. We hope to spend time exploring our local area including going to the woods to spot the signs that Autumn is here.

This year the children will join their other class for PE, so they can wear their PE kit to school on their day and learn new skills as part of a larger group.

As part of our new Curious City curriculum our enquiry will be:

'What is my hat made of?'

All of our learning aims to be enquiry based; asking and solving lots of questions and problems.

Our first enquiry is 'what is my hat made of?' where we will be scientists, engineers and artists. We are looking forward to a visit from a milliner to find out about how hats are made. Children will have an opportunity to design and make their own hat. Watch this space for details about our upcoming fashion show!
