Marvin Rees, the Mayor of Bristol, was thrilled to receive the children’s letters explaining what new classrooms for Bristol’s growing population of children should be made from, what they could contain and why! Great work Year 2!
Our finished dioramas! We really have enjoyed 'Being Engineers', 'Being Scientists' and 'Being Artists'!
Today we got stuck into applying our skills in ‘Being an engineer’ and ‘Being an artist’ as we created our diorama models of the perfect classroom!
Today we applied our knowledge of materials and structures to create our very own dens in the playground! We really had to be 'Team-Players' to work together with the resources and show 'Resilience' when things did not quite go to plan!
Today, we spoke to a real architect! He talked about how buildings are planned, designed and built.
Today we investigated what materials are used for buildings and thinking about the reasons why.
Today we started 'Being an engineer' by looking at what materials our school is made of. We thought about why each was chosen. Our school is over one hundred years old, so the materials must be good choices!
