After researching different types of bridges, we met a local engineer who has designed a variety of bridges in Bristol. We used junk modelling, straws, and string to re-create a bridge that we had researched.
We used our engineering knowledge to plan, make, check and improve bridges made from construction toys.
Jupiter Class have been engineers and have designed and created their own bridges inspired by Brunel, using junk modelling. Their task was to design a bridge that could carry an egg over a tray of water! We will be testing this this afternoon!
We have used 3 different sources to research and find out information about Brunel. We have used newspaper articles, images and the internet and recorded our findings in a Brunel notebook. This will be used to create a fact file on Brunel as an author writer.
Year 2 Brunel exhibition. The children were able to wear their top hats and explain their knowledge of Brunel to all the parents and carers!
