St Anne's Infants' School

Reach for the Stars

Toilet campaign

Unfortunately the schools cleaners have reported that the schools toilets are not being kept clean and soap and toilet roll are being wasted. The Eco-team devised a 'Toilet Campaign' - to design posters to display in the school toilets, do an assembly and hold a whole school competition.

The team held an assembly to inform and discuss the issue with the whole school. They told the children that the cleaners will be reporting to Mrs Nicholson and Miss Riddell on who should receive the Cleanest Toilets trophy; this will be awarded every two weeks.

All of last year the Eco-team worked hard on raising awareness of reducing the use of energy within the school. The reports on the schools energy usage shows that we have successful worked on reducing the amount of energy we have been using - well done everyone!

Poo patrol

As part of the Bristol City council Big spray campaign we have raised awareness of dog poo hot-spots. Posters were made and displayed around the local area and outside of school and a university student came in to talk with the Eco-team to discuss the dangers of dog poo and threadworms . Each week when the Reception children visit forest school they monitor and flag (spray paint) dog poo. The amount of poo found reduced throughout the year but sadly the it has sky rocketed again. Fingers crossed with the help of our spray can and as the weather gets better we will see a reduction in the amount we come across.
