St Anne's Admissions Policy Consultation for 2021/22

It is a legal requirement for all schools to publicly consult when changes to the admissions arrangements are proposed. St Anne’s Infants’ School is consulting on its Admissions Policy for 2021/22.

The Governing Body, with the support of the Head Teacher, is proposing to reduce the Published Admission Number at St Anne’s Infants’ School from 90 places to 60 places from 1 September 2021.

As a result of falling numbers across the city over the last two years, we have identified some challenges in continuing to operate at the current capacity whilst striving to deliver a high quality of educational provision for all pupils. The Local Authority forecast for future numbers indicates that they are likely to remain low / decline and therefore it is financially unsustainable for us to keep a Published Admission Number of 90. There are no further material changes to the policy. A copy of the proposed admissions policy for 2021/22 can be made available on request.

St Anne’s Infants’ School is committed to continuing to work with the Local Authority to ensure that the future needs of the community are met.

If you would like to comment on the policy, please reply in writing to Sharon Riddell, School Business Manager, or email her at All comments will be forwarded to the governing body. We will take all replies into consideration before publishing the finalised policy.

The consultation period starts on Monday 21 October 2019 and finishes on Friday 20 December 2019.

'The staff are all amazing. We have been overwhelmed by how welcoming the school is. It manages to have the feeling of a village school, even though it’s so big. We love St Anne’s!' 2018 Reception parent
