Volunteers are invaluable to the staff and children at St Anne’s Infants’. From helping staff with activities such as changing books and hearing children read, to sharing cultural information, to being involved in art and crafts or gardening projects, to accompanying children on trips, we welcome volunteers from our local and wider community to come and help us learn.
Volunteers in school are seen by the children as trusted adults and therefore it is school policy to ensure that any adult regularly involved in school life is party to our safer recruitment processes. If you are interested in volunteering with us, please contact Mrs Sutherland, Head Teacher, via the school office. You will be invited in for an informal discussion and two references will be requested – one of these must be from a recent employer or person in a position of trust. We are able to provide support with identifying suitable references if you are having difficult.
Following these steps, and providing we have a vacancy, school will support you in obtaining a Disclosure and Barring Enhanced Clearance and a formal induction will be carried out by Mrs Sutherland. Volunteers are asked to familiarise themselves and comply with school policies in order to maintain our safe and secure environment.
Please note that parents / carers may not always work in their child’s classroom.
