Weekly update - Term 1, week 5

Essential communications and messages from school this week.

Dear Parents & Carers,

Please see below essential communications and messages from school this week.

Whole school messages & reminders

Absence reporting and communication with school – all absences should be reported via the school office, not your class teachers (this includes Nursery). Reports an absence on MCAS, by emailing school@stannesinfants.co.uk or calling 01179031435 .

Timekeeping - A reminder that gates close at 8.50am for years R, 1 & 2 and then at 9am for Nursery - there have been a growing number of children coming in to both school and nursery late, which has negative effects on children’s ability to settle for the school day with constant late arrivals also disrupting the learning of those already here.

Reminder: Flu spray vaccinations 21st October: Reminder - use this link to consent: Sirona care & health .

School Christmas card project - these should have now made it home. Deadline to return these is 9th October.

Reminder: school Nurse drop-in - there will be a school nurse drop-in on Thursday 9th October from 9am to 10.45am in St. Anne's Church Hall. All parents and carers are welcome and there is no need to book. You will be able to have an informal discussion about your child's health and well-being.

Munchkins Holiday Club – See attached leaflet for Munchkins Holiday Club for this half term. They can now accept children between the ages of 3 and 11.

Library books – if your child has one, please ensure this is returned.

Pre-loved uniform – if you need to buy pre-loved uniform, you can now make a donation for this (£1 per item) on MCAS. Uniform is out on a Thursday morning, in the playground with Mrs Owen.

Smoking and vaping – this is not permitted on the school grounds, this includes the ramp as you enter and leave the school. Please help to create a healthy environment for the children.

Nursery messages

Timekeeping & attendance

Now that all children have had a successful settling in period, we remind all parents & carers that the nursery day begins at 8.50am with gates locked from 9am. We do expect children to have arrived at Nursery by this time. Any families not present by 9.10am will be called by the school office as per our attendance procedures.

On a Wednesday, the afternoon session begins at 12.30pm and the same rules for lateness apply.

As stated above, absences must be reported to the school office, not Ms Warne or any other member of the nursery team.

Reception messages

From next week, Reception children will be doing PE on a Thursday, so please send children in wearing their PE kit on this day each week.

To encourage and support children to talk to each other about their families, we are asking parents and carers to send in a photo of their family which can be displayed in the classroom. Please email photos into the class email or upload them onto Tapestry. Many thanks from the Reception team.
