Essential information for the week and term ahead
Census day is coming up this week! As a lot of parents already know, the more children that eat a school dinner on this day, the more funding the school will receive. We are going to be doing an extra 'Fish Finger Thursday' with Fish Fingers, Quorn Nuggets, Baguettes, Jacket Potatoes and Tomato Pasta on the menu. We would love for every child to have a school dinner on this day! Anyone that hasn't ordered please speak to Miss Knapton, who can do this for you. For those children regularly eating packed lunch, if they would like to try a dinner and bring a lunch as a backup, they are more than welcome to do so!
School nurse drop ins are now held in the community room at Wicklea Academy from 9.45 to 11.45am.
All parents and carers are welcome and there is no need to book. You will be able to have an informal discussion about your child's health and well-being.
Topics for discussion include:
Emotional health
Healthy eating
Healthy relationships
Physical health concerns
Sleep
Continence
If you would like any further information about this session, please speak to Mrs Owen (Pastoral Lead).
Please view the attached letter & leaflet regarding height and weight checks for reception children.
We are excited to inform you that, next week, Mr Soper will be re-launching the St Anne's Eco-team and we are looking for budding environmentalists to join!
Mr Soper will be leading an assembly on Monday to explain what the eco-team is and the kinds of things it will be involved in. Later in the week, children who are interested in being part of the team will have the opportunity to share why they want to be involved with their class and there will then be a class vote.
Talk to your child this weekend about whether they would like to put themselves forward for nomination and support them in putting together a few words to explain why. Each class will have two representatives, with the second member of the team being invited by Mr Soper.
Happy New Year from the Nursery Team!
On Tuesday 13th at 4.30pm, Reception children and parents are invited to join us on a night walk as we begin our enquiry 'What is darkness'? We will start our walk at the classroom and children will all be provided with high visibility jackets, but you are also welcome to bring along torches or other reflective items. The walk will last approximately 30 minutes and then we will return to the class for some hot chocolate and chat. Siblings are welcome to join.
On Friday 16th at 9.00 - 9.30 am, Miss Robertson will be hosting another phonics information meeting for Reception parents. The focus will be on what the children will be learning in phonics over the next two terms, how this is applied to reading and writing, and how to support with reading at home, with an opportunity to ask questions.
Please ensure that you are keeping up to date with payments due to the school. To find out which payments you need to make, you can use either the desktop version of MCAS (example on the left) or the MCAS app (image of the widget on the right).

If not settled, then parents will receive a personalised email detailing any monies owed by the end of each term. If you have an outstanding payment to make and require help with this, please email school@stannesinfants.co.uk .
Please order all lunches for the following week by the end of Thursday (every week) on MCAS.
If you do not pre-order lunches for your children, then we cannot guarantee that they will be able to have the school meal of their choice.
