SMS Test

Thank you to all the parents that gave feedback following our emergency SMS test last week, we identified that the way some phone numbers are stored was disagreeable for the system. We will run another test once the manual work of going through all parental contacts is completed.

Cultural Diversity Day

Please click on the story below to read about the upcoming Cultural Diversity Day taking place on 20th May:

St Anne's Infant School - Cultural Diversity Day

Drop off and pickup

Please can all parents ensure that they read the following to ensure that busiest times of day can happen without incident:

  • Parents to have eyes on their children / younger siblings during the busy school pickup.  Sometimes the children get swept along with the crowd and go up the ramp not realising that their parent/carer is not behind them.
  • Parents and children to stick to the one way system - it's only an extra 10 yards to walk and helps prevent collisions and injuries.
  • Scooters and bikes to be walked out of the playground - again, this is to prevent collisions and injuries.
  • Dogs - we don't object to dogs being brought on the school run, but must be left outside of the school gates, the one way system still applies and if the dog in question does not 'play nice' around other dogs then please don't bring them onto the school site.

Class Photos
  • These will be taken on Wednesday 13th May. Please can all school age children be in FULL uniform for this day and come to school with buttons done and hair brushed beforehand (if applicable) so we can hit the ground running on this hectic day.
  • Nursery families have received information seperately.

Nursery
  • St Anne’s Park Playground Trips – 19th and or 21st May at 1.15pm-Volunteers needed - can you help to accompany Sun Class to St Anne's Park Playground please? More volunteers are needed so the trips can go ahead.
  • Hot lunches - thank you very much for booking your child’s hot lunches/packed lunches in advance; this helps us to optimise teaching time. Please let us know if we can offer support with the use of the MCAS App.
  • Phonics - next week, we will focus on letter 'e'. We'll listen for the sound letter 'e' makes by saying the alliterative phrase 'Every elephant enters.'  When writing the letter, we'll use the cue ‘Under his ear and around his trunk.'

Reception
  • Reception will be going on an educational visit to Court Farm on 8th June. Further details on costs, volunteers and lunches etc will be provided next week.

  • Remember - photo day on Wednesday so reception to be in full uniform NOT PE kits.

Year 1
  • Year 1 Scooter skills – Friday 22nd May - if you have one, please bring in your scooter and a helmet on Friday 22nd May for Scooter Skills sessions provided by the School Active Travel Team from Bristol City Council. Please note these scooters need to be in good working order.
  • During the sessions pupils will learn how and when to use the brake, what hazards to look and listen out for, and play some warmup games. Then they will get the chance to tackle an obstacle course on their scooter. This short session is designed to get pupils thinking about their steering, balance and spatial awareness on their bike or scooter, in a group environment.
Year 2
  • Year 2 will be going on their end of year trip to Puxton Park on 10th July. Detailed information will be sent within the next couple of weeks.
