Please find a range of useful links for parents and carers related to safeguarding below. If you have any concerns or questions about child welfare, please speak to a member of our safeguarding team.

Adults concerned about a child can call First Response on 0117 903 6444 or the NSPCC on 0808 800 5000. Calls can be made anonymously to both services.

Children and young people can access advice and support by calling Childline on 0800 1111.

  • Listen Up Speak Up A 10 minute training session from the NSPCC to give adults practical advice on what to do if they're concerned about a child.
  • The Resource Vault Advice for mental and emotional health difficulties that may be affecting children split into age groups from birth
  • Hey Sigmund A great website with lots of advice on supporting emotions through different ages, stages and events in life.
  • Home alone How to decide when it's safe for your child to be home on their own, and what you can do if they're too young
  • Online safety Advice from the NSPCC to help you keep your child safe online
  • Net Aware The NSPCC and O2's joint guide to the social networks children use - find out just how safe sites, games and apps they are using really are. You can also sign up to a newsletter to support children even under the age of 4 in staying safe online
  • Live streaming Information to help you support your child understand the risks of live streaming
  • Healthy sexual behaviour It can often be worrying when your child is showing an interest in their and other people's bodies. This is a useful guide to healthy sexual behaviour at different ages.
