Anna Sutherland, Head Teacher

Anna Sutherland

Head Teacher and SENDCo

Hi! I have been Headteacher at St Anne's since September 2017 but have been at the school since 2010, firstly as Reading Recovery teacher and SENDCo and then as Deputy Headteacher and nurture lead. Before teaching in Bristol I taught in the Early Years in both London and Manchester. I have also had jobs in a department store, a high street bank and teaching English in Hanoi, Vietnam and Dublin. I love travelling and have been to lots of different countries including Argentina, Russia, UAE and Thailand. I live with my husband Mike who is a gardener and my daughter Maiya. When I'm not at work, I love reading, exploring the city, photography and spending time with friends!

Rae Fillingham

Deputy Head Teacher - Designated Safeguarding Lead and Teaching, Learning and Assessment Lead.  Designated Teacher for Looked After and Previously Looked After Children

Hello! I joined St. Anne’s Infants' School as a supply teacher in September 2006 and never left!  When I graduated from university, I taught for a couple of years before a change of career took me into the world of recruitment.  I always knew that I would return to education one day and I did! Refreshing and updating my skills at UWE, I found myself happily back in the classroom and the rest is history!  I am married to Ash and have two wonderful daughters, Daisy and Phoebe.  In my spare time, I love to listen to audio-books whilst going for walks and I also enjoy pottering in my garden.

Emily Robertson

Early Years Foundation Stage Lead

Hello, I am Miss Robertson and I joined the St Anne’s team in September 2018 following a move back to the South West.  Prior to this I worked for 3 years at a school in Kent in both Reception and Nursery classes. I am passionate about Early Years education and love being witness to the huge amounts of progress that children make in these years.  In my free time, I enjoy singing and playing the piano. I enjoy trips to the theatre and try to see musicals whenever I can.

Zoe Pope

Hello! My name is Miss Pope. I was born in London, where I taught for 4 years but I went to university in Bristol. I am passionate about early reading and making lessons creative and memorable. In my spare time, I enjoy keeping fit through swimming, running and cycling, reading and playing the violin. I love exploring different cities and learning about their cultures.
