St Anne's Infants' School & Nursery Reach for the Stars
Term 1
Year 1 enjoyed their trip to Woodcroft Orchard as part of their enquiry "What grows near me?" The children went on a treasure hunt, matched seeds to fruit and vegetables and learnt the parts of a tree.
Enquiry- what grows near me? Venus have been scientists to investigate plants and label the parts of a plant and tree.
Venus Class enjoyed their reward for filling our class star jar. A super pyjama disco!
Art Exhibition: Year 1 loved sharing all of their artwork with families in our very own art exhibition
Enquiry- what do artists do? Venus class used their skills and knowledge to create a final piece of art for our exhibition. We have been exploring printing, pointillism, sketching and colour mixing.
Venus class had a great time on their visit to St Anne's House. They even became artists and put their artwork on display in the gallery!
Neptune class had a great trip to Bricks at St Anne's house. We saw the artist studios, pottery and made our own artwork too.
Venus Class loved participating in an art workshop by a local artist, Laura Humpage. They used a variety of materials to create a frame and then used pointillism to create a picture for the inside.
Dotty day in Neptune class - we wore dotty clothes, we went on a dots, spots and circles treasure hunt and we made our own dotty art work :)
Venus Class have had a wonderful week settling into Year 1!
