End of year reports

All children, except those who are returning to Nursery next year, will receive an end of year report. These will be sent out via email by 9pm Wednesday 15 July from system@insighttracking.com. Please note that the emailing of reports will be staggered and therefore not everyone will receive a report at the same time; please do not contact the school about this unless you have not received a report by 9pm Wednesday.

At the end of the report, there is space for parents to provide feedback on the report or their child's year at school; please ensure any feedback is completed by the end of term. 

A huge thank you

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all those parents who have generously donated additional funds towards school trips over the course of the year. These opportunities enrich our curriculum offer for the children and are not something that we want to have to reduce due to budgetary pressures, so we are truly grateful for your kindness and support. 

Additionally, a big thank you also goes out to those who have purchased items from our Amazon wishlist in the last week. We have received deliveries of lots of lovely resources over the last few days that will no doubt bring a smile to the children's faces! 🎉School Fair Success

Last Friday’s Friends of St Anne’s Summer Fair was a fantastic afternoon — busy, buzzing, and full of smiles!

The children had an amazing time enjoying all the games and activities, and the atmosphere was full of community spirit.

We’re thrilled to share that the event raised an incredible £2,044.44, including match funding from Hargreaves Lansdown.

A heartfelt thank you to the church, parents, teachers, and everyone who supported and donated — your generosity has helped reach our target to create our new outdoor learning area! 🌿

Head lice

There have been reported cases of Head lice in Nursery and Reception. Please do check your child and treat as soon as possible if any are discovered. Advice available here: Head lice and nits - NHS .

Free School Meals

The way the DfE checks for free school meal eligibility is changing. A separate communication will be sent out either this afternoon or on Monday with details of the action ALL parents must take.

Class emails

A reminder that all day-to-day communication with the school regarding your child must either go through MCAS or school@stannesinfants.co.uk or by calling 0117 9031435.  Please do not use class emails for this purpose. Class emails are for non-emergent matters like pictures, arranging visitors etc. These are not checked on a daily basis, so should not be used for anything relating to pastoral matters (attendance, behaviour support etc).

Heat

The heatwave continues!

Please ensure that children are sent in with the following:

• Plenty of water in their own drinking bottle.
• Pre-applied, long lasting sun cream - school cannot apply for you.
• A sun hat.

Reminder: Summer Reading Challenge 2026: Read to the Beat!

On Saturday 4th July, the Summer Reading Challenge kicks off with its exciting new theme, Read to the Beat. This year’s collection features books about music, rhythm, sound, creativity, cultural traditions, and following your dreams, with something to inspire every reader.

Reading opens the door to new worlds, adventures, and ideas, helping children to develop their imagination, confidence, vocabulary, and love of learning. Just a few minutes of reading each day can make a big difference.

Children can sign up at their local library or online at https://summerreadingchallenge.org.uk/, where they can set reading goals, earn rewards, and take part in fun summer activities. Many of the recommended books are available free through local libraries.

We hope all of our families will encourage their children to take part, and we look forward to hearing about the books they enjoy over the summer holidays!

Reminder: Book Amnesty

As we approach the end of the school year, we are asking families to have a good look around at home for any phonics books, shared readers, or library books that may still be hiding away. Please return any books to school as soon as possible so that we can replenish our supplies and prepare for September.

Those children that have outstanding library books have had a paper letter go home in bags this week. Please ensure that you are returning them as soon as possible.

The more books that are returned, the more books will be available for children next year. If you are unsure which library books your child has on loan, please speak to your child's class teacher, who will be able to check for you.

Nursery

Nursery End-of-Year Social - Wednesday 15th July at 3.30pm – St Anne’s Park Playground

Please join other Sun Class families in an end-of-year social at the playground. This is an opportunity to round off the year having fun with other nursery families. The Nursery Team will be at the playground between 3.30pm and 4pm to wish pupils good luck in their next steps in their learning journeys (N.B. Families will be responsible for the safety of their children.).  

Phonics

Next week, we will focus on letter 'v’. We'll listen for the sound letter 'v' makes by saying the alliterative phrase '‘The vulture veers over valleys.’  When writing the letter, we'll use the cue ‘Down one wing and up the other.'
