Dear Parents and Carers,

It doesn't matter if you don't have a diagnosis, they are here to support every family in Bristol and they are parents themselves so they get it! The school nurse will also be attending this final coffee morning of the year so if you have any questions for her, please do come along!
Date: Thursday 3 July
Time: 9 - 10:30am
Location: St Anne's Church Hall

Signing in and out: Thank you to all the parents that have signed their child in using the tablet in reception this week. This is a mandatory requirement if arriving from 8:55 am onwards and for leaving at any point during the school day for any reason. There have been a couple of incidences of parents leaving their child at the gate to walk in late – this is not acceptable and we ask those parents to follow the instructions above.
New website: This has been live for a few weeks now, with the school making most of the necessary changes and content edits that it needed in that time. You will also now see an events calendar at the bottom of the homepage, and the news and events page fully populated. Information about school times, term dates and enrichment clubs are now in the parents area.
Classes for 25/26 on MCAS: Classes for next year have now been assigned to children on MCAS and will take effect from 31/08/2025. From this day onwards, parents will be able to use MCAS to book breakfast club and make meal selections for term 1 of the new academic year.
Cycling and scooting between schools: There have been a few minor incidents and near misses involving children on bikes and scooters using Langton Road (in between St Anne’s and Wicklea Academy). Please can all parents ensure that they are being careful of others in this busy, multi-use space that is used by pedestrians, cyclists, scooter users and cars to avoid any further incidents.
Nursery
Outstanding payments: Please note that all payments for resources or for additional nursery sessions must be settled in full by the end of the school year.
Reception
Grandparent visit: As part of our current history enquiry, the children in Reception are finding out about what things were different before they were born. To support our learning, we would love to invite one of the children's grandparents in to chat to the children about what things were like when they were at school. We would like one grandparent for each class to visit for 30 minutes either next week or the week after. If you have a willing grandparent, please get in touch with your child's class teacher. No grandparents have volunteered so far – please can you all ask grandparents if they would interested in doing this for our reception children.
Year 1
Plastic free July: Next week the children will be learning about Plastic Free July. Plastic Free July is a global movement that helps millions of people be part of the solution to plastic pollution – so we can have cleaner streets, oceans, and beautiful communities.
We will be teaching the children about why it is important to use less plastic and how we can big difference together if we all make small changes. We encourage you to take part with this at home by choosing a single-use plastic item as a family that you can replace with a sustainable, reuseable alternative, e.g. tote bags instead carrier bags or baking treats instead of buying packaged ones! For more inspiration visit the Plastic Free July website: Getting started - Plastic Free July
Year 2
Puxton Park: With only a few left, this is a reminder to make contributions and lunch selections on MCAS for this trip. If you have any problems doing this please contact the school office.
Remember: Key future dates are now on both MCAS and the school website.
