Essential communications and messages from school this week.

    Dear Parents & Carers,

Please see below essential communications and messages from school this week.

    Whole school messages and reminders

Standstrong workshops: On Wednesday 1st October Standstrong will be visiting the school to deliver an assembly and some workshops. Can all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 please come to school in their PE kit this day.

    Breakfast Club:

    • Children must arrive at breakfast club by 8.15am at the very latest – we will not be able to let parents arriving after this time drop their children until school gates open at 8.40am.
    • To ensure that children’s arrival into breakfast club is smooth and calm, please can parents ensure that they bring children to the door and allow them to walk in independently, to avoid disrupting this environment for other children. We are aware that some children find separating more challenging and we would encourage parents to seek help from Mrs Pritchard, Mrs Harvey or Mrs H-P.
    • We’re pleased to announce that we can now offer Breakfast Club free of charge for pupils in receipt of free school meals (FSM) & Pupil Premium on a trial basis until the end of December 2025.
    • All sessions must be pre-booked on MCAS (you cannot just arrive on the day as staffing/food may not be available).
    • For any queries about how to book breakfast club sessions on MCAS, please speak to Mr. Fozzard.

Cleverchefs lunch menu and special diets: For those that currently require a special diet menu or for any new Nursery/Reception children with a food allergy, please complete the special diet request form here: SPECIAL DIETS / ALLERGY FORM . Please note that those children with allergies that do not have a special diet menu in place will not be able to eat school meals until this is done.

Our new lunch menu from 3rd of November onwards, and will be on MCAS soon for parents to make choices for the coming term. Halal and special diet options will also be available from this date onwards. For nursery children, please also be aware that the nursery meal price from term 2 onwards will be £3.00 (those in receipt of Free School Meals do not pay).

Reminder: Census Day – 2nd October: The Autumn Census takes place on this date, and we would encourage all children to take a hot school dinner on this day (of course, free for Reception, Year 1 and Year 2). Each child recorded as having a dinner this day increases our funding for universal free school meals and can affect the school’s budget. We will be cooking all the children’s favourites on this day: Cheese & Tomato Pizza, Sausages & Fish Fingers with chips (plus pasta and jackets). Regular menus will not be running on this day. Please could we ask all parents to make a selection in MCAS.

Reminder: Open days for Reception 2026: Details on the attached poster. Parents are welcome to share on social media and group chats etc.

Munchkins Holiday Club – See attached leaflet for Munchkins Holiday Club for this half term. They can now accept children between the ages of 3 and 11.

School Christmas card project: Please look out for comms next week regarding this. If a sheet has been sent home for your child, please keep it safe for now.

Reminder: school Nurse drop-in: There will be a school nurse drop-in on Thursday 9th October from 9am to 10.45am in St. Anne's Church Hall. All parents and carers are welcome and there is no need to book. You will be able to have an informal discussion about your child's health and well-being.

    Topics for discussion include:

    • Emotional health
    • Healthy eating
    • Healthy relationships
    • Physical health concerns
    • Sleep
    • Continence

*If you would like any further information about this session please speak to Mrs Owen (Pastoral Lead).

Reminder: Flu spray vaccinations 21st October: Reminder: Use this link to consent: Sirona care & health .

Food bank collection: Please see attached letter

    Measles: Please see attached letter

Please name jumpers and cardigans - including hand me downs! We are only 4 weeks into the school year and have already accumulated a large box of lost property (unnamed jumpers, water bottles and more!). Please try to write names or buy stickers to put on all of your child’s belongings.

Water bottles: In line with our commitment to healthy eating, please can parents ensure that these are filled with water only and not squash or juice.

Reminder: Drop off: Please can we ask parents not to come into the school building in the morning and to say goodbye at the doors. Also, please do not stand in front of the door as this can be confusing, overwhelming and an obstacle for other children coming in.

    Nursery

We are delighted that nursery children are settling well and having lots of fun . As with the main school, please remember to label all items with child’s name, especially lunch boxes and water bottles.

All nursery children will have the opportunity to take part in self-registration from Monday. Please find your name block and add it to the block stack on the outdoor table. Nursery staff also complete a register.
