Essential communications and messages from school w/e 24th October

    Weekly update – Term 1, week 8.

Congratulations to all families on flying through to the end of the longest term of the year!

    Whole school messages

Cleverchefs Menu: The new menus are live on MCAS and also attached at the bottom of the page, including our poster for our first Cleverchefs theme day – on 5th November to celebrate Bonfire Night!

Change to dinner ordering deadlines: Effective immediately, all school dinners must be order by Friday for the following week. This means that the last chance to order for the first week of next term is Thursday 30th October. If lunches are not pre-ordered, we cannot guarantee that we can give your child their first choice school dinner on any given day.

There are a few dozen parents that have pre-ordered all lunches until Christmas – this is amazing and we thank you for being mega-organised.

An automated reminder message will be sent every Wednesday to remind parents to complete dinner selections each week – please note that this is a generic message and does not pay attention to who has or has not made selections at the time of sending.

Hot drinks on the playground: Please ensure that if you are carrying a hot drink into school with you on drop-off/pick-up or any other time that the cup you use is fitted with a lid to prevent the possibility of injury should there be a collision.

Breakfast Club: Please can parents ensure children are dropped to a member of staff in reception, not left at the gate. Any parents that do leave children at the gate will be contacted directly each day go forward and may result in us restricting access to Breakfast Club as a last resort.

School nurse drop-in: Next one is on 17th November – 9am to 10.45am

Lingohoop (languages club- after school on Tuesdays) are still open for new sign ups – poster attached.

    Nursery messages

Please do pay attention to the new cut-offs for ordering lunches as this applies to Nursery families as well as those in the main school.

    Reception messages

New enquiry: Next term, the Reception children will be exploring the enquiry topic “How do we celebrate?” As part of our class discussions, we’d love to help the children reflect on and share their own experiences of celebrations. To support this, we kindly ask parents and carers to send in a photo of a celebration your child has attended. This could be a celebration that holds special meaning for them or your family—such as a birthday, wedding, christening—or a religious celebration like Easter, Eid, Diwali, or others.

Please send photos into your child's class email or upload them to Tapestry. Many thanks from the Reception Team.

    Year 1 messages

Year 1 trip to St. Annes Park, Week 2 of the Term 2: We are going on an Autumn Hunt to look at the changes to the park. Whilst we are there we will be collecting Autumnal items for a journey stick. This is going to star our third enquiry; How does my school change where we analyse how the seasons change throughout the year. Thursday 13th November 2025, parents welcome. 9:10-11:00

Things to bring in after the holidays:

    • A shoe box by the end of week 3 of next term.
    • Children could bring in a toy from their past if they have any. Or from their grandparents. This will be for display purposes only and will be well looked after (week 1).
