Essential updates for the week ahead
Can all Parents & Carers please support the messages given in school this week regarding hand washing by reminding their children that they must wash their hands for 20 seconds before eating and after using the toilet. We have noticed an increase in children not washing their hands, which could help spread threadworms and sickness bugs.

It has been observed multiple times that children both from St Anne's and from other settings are climbing on the walls of the sloped entrance in the playground at pickup (from school and from after school clubs). This is a highly dangerous activity due to the increased drop to the playground on the other side. Parents & Carers must ensure that their children do not endanger themselves in this way and are responsible for the behaviour of children in their care at all times whilst on school grounds with them.
Please view the document at the bottom of the page for information about the Easter Holiday HAF scheme, offered by Munchkins Childcare.
We are looking for donations of boys trousers, socks for both boys and girls. We would also welcome and school shorts or skirts. If you have anything to spare, please drop them into the office.
The next one is at Wicklea Academy on 1st April - 9.45am to 11.45am.

Pre-loved donations - Sun Class would welcome donations of matching or odd socks.
Phonics - Next week, we will focus on letter 'm'. We'll listen for the sound letter 'd' makes by saying the alliterative phrase 'Don't disturb the dinosaur!' When writing the letter, we'll use the cue 'Around his back then head to toe.
Reminder - Reception will be visiting St Anne's Church on Monday 23rd March, with Mars going 10.00am to 10.30am and Earth going 10.30am to 11.00am. We need a few parent volunteers to help us make the journey over. If you are able to volunteer, please contact your child's teacher at mars@stannesinfants.co.uk or earth@stannesinfants.co.uk .
In our enquiry we are going to be finishing off our research on nursing in the past and creating timelines. In writing we are going toc continue exploring Hansel and Gretel and in maths we are going to be carrying on looking at addition and subtraction equations.
We are going to start completing the full Phonics Screener, so please can you keep reading with your children at least 3 times a week so they are constantly practicing stretching and reading words.
As the weather is warmer and brighter, and to tie it in with our season enquiry we would love to start some gardening in the year 1 playground. If you could donate any seeds/ pots/ compost that would be amazing and greatly appreciated! - Please no bulbs or tubers though.
Please ensure that you are keeping up to date with payments due to the school. To find out which payments you need to make, you can use either the desktop version of MCAS (example on the left) or the MCAS app (image of the widget on the right).

If you have an outstanding payment to make and require help with this, please email school@stannesinfants.co.uk .
Please order all lunches for the following week by the end of Thursday (every week) on MCAS.
If you do not pre-order lunches for your children, then we cannot guarantee that they will be able to have the school meal of their choice.
