Essential information for Parents & Carers of children attending St Anne's Infants
We are pleased to announce that, following the hard work of several members of staff, governors and parents along with the Friends of St Anne's that we are soon able to begin a refurbishment project of the outdoor classroom areas outside Mars, Earth and Neptune Classes. New features will include motor skill development equipment, water walls and a new outdoor classroom space, all with a new surface for parts of this area.
We have received an amazing grant from the John James Foundation and the Friends of St Anne's will also make a substantial contribution. This means that we are just a short amount away from funding the entire project, and there will be numerous fundraising efforts for this over the remainder of this academic year and next.
We will share our exciting plans for this area in the coming weeks, and we are hoping that work will be completed before the end of the academic year.
With the weather getting warmer just a gentle reminder to apply sun cream to your child BEFORE school as staff are not able to reapply at school. It is better to choose a brand that offer's 8 hour protection, SPF 50, so that your child remains protected all day.

๐ท Grow a Pound is BACK! ๐ท
After last year’s huge success, the Friends of St Anne’s are re-running the "Grow a Pound Market" to fund school trips, music assemblies, bike racks, and more!
How it works:
๐ฐ Get £1: Every child receives £1 to start- children were given a pound on 8th May.
๐๏ธ Sell it: Sell your creations at our grand market to make a profit for the school or you can make the money at home during the half term and donate it later, details below.
Ideas to get started:
The Market Day โช๏ธ
๐
When: Friday 5th June, 3:30pm – 4:30pm
๐ Where: St Anne’s Church Hall
๐๏ธ Who: Everyone! Bring family, friends, and plenty of change!
Let's us know if you would like a table at the Market day please email on friendsofstannes@hotmail.com or message us on the what's app groups. We will set up the tables in the church hall for the market day, but we would ask that 1 parent would stay with their child on each table to sell their creations or items please.
Returning the money:
Please return all proceeds in a "Grow a Pound" envelope to the school office post box by 12th June, or pay online here: https://www.peoplesfundraising.com/fundraising/grow-a-1-summer-fundraising-event
Let’s get creative for a great cause! โจ
If you need more specific stall ideas to help prep for the day, just let us know! Email: friendsofstannes@hotmail.com
You are under no obligation to do this fundraising. If you prefer you can give the £1 back at the market day and enjoy the marketplace on Friday 5th June after school and help raise funds by buying from other children's stalls. Last year there were cakes, beautiful bookmarks, plants, flowers, some toys and books.
We prefer cash for each stall please, so the kids can see how much money they make on the day and learn about handling money. We will have QR code payment available too for online payments.
In collaboration with Architecture and Planning students from UWE, the Friends of St Anne’s Park are on a mission to make our local park even better for the future — and they want to hear what children think.

Hot lunches
Thank you very much for booking your child’s hot lunches in advance; this helps us to optimise teaching time. Please let us know if we can offer support with the use of the MCAS App.
Phonics
In term 6 - week 1, we will focus on letter 'r'. We'll listen for the sound letter 'r' makes by saying the alliterative phrase 'The rapid rabbit races.' When writing the letter, we'll use the cue ‘From head to tail then up and over along his ears.’
Reception will be going on an educational visit to Court Farm on 8th June, for which details have now been sent to all parents. Please remember to pay contributions and choose between home or school packed lunch (all on MCAS)
