There has been a growing issue of poor behaviour at after school clubs this term. Please note that, going forwards, we will operate a 2-strike policy on poor behaviour at clubs. In the first instance, the club provider will discuss poor behaviour with Parents/Carers. Following that, a repeat of poor behaviour could result in a child's club place being revoked for the remainer of the term in question.
Our advice: These clubs are in place for the enrichment of the curriculum for those children with an interest, not as a wraparound care provision (which we do have in place with our amazing partners at Munchkins). If a child lacks a genuine interest in the subjects on offer, and is struggling to stay focused as a result, we would not sign your child up for the club in question in future.
A reminder that the gates open at 8.40am and close at 8.50am every morning and children are marked as late if they arrive after 8.55am. Registration closes at 9.20am and the school day ends at 3.20pm. If you are struggling to get your child to school on time please have a chat with Mrs Owen to see how we can support you and your child.
Despite the hot weather, children must continue to wear the most appropriate footwear for the school day.
Acceptable footwear: School shoes or black trainers, with appropriate amounts of grip for outdoor activity (nursery children are not restricted to black trainers, but must wear closed footwear with suitable grips).
Please do not send you child to school in: Wellies, Crocs, Sandals or any other footwear with poor grip or exposed toes.
If your child arrives at school with inappropriate footwear, parents will be called and asked to bring in school shoes or black trainers and until this is done, the child in question will be unable to play on the climbing frame, the trim trail and partake in any other activity where injury is possible with poor grip and/or exposed toes.
Please remember to apply sun screen before arriving at school and to send your child with a water bottle.
We're excited to be renovating our outdoor reception areas into spaces where children can learn, play, explore and develop their creativity throughout the year. The refreshed environments will provide wonderful opportunities for outdoor learning and imaginative play for our youngest pupils.
Thanks to the generosity of the John James Foundation and to you - our school community - through the Friends of St. Anne’s, we have already secured £16,000 towards the project. We are now seeking to raise a final £2,000.
We know that families are often asked to contribute to school trips, end-of-year collections and many other activities, and we are hugely grateful for the support you already give. We believe this project will make a lasting difference to the daily experience of children at St Anne's for years to come.
If you would like to help us reach the finish line, there are several ways to get involved:
• Join us at the Summer Fair on Friday 3rd July, 3.30pm–5.30pm at the Church Hall. Every penny raised will go towards the new outdoor learning area.
• Make a donation directly via our fundraising page and, if possible, share it with family and friends who may also wish to support the project:
https://www.zeffy.com/en-GB/donation-form/donate-towards-the-new-outside-play-area
• Business sponsorship opportunities are available. If you or your employer would be interested in supporting the project, we'd love to hear from you. Sponsors will be recognised through school communications or small signage within the completed area.
As always, thank you for your support!
Note - the Friends of St Anne's are also looking for volunteers to help make the Summer Fair a success. Whether you can spare some time during the day to help with set-up, or volunteer for a 60-minute slot during the fair itself, we'd be incredibly grateful. You can sign up here: Volunteer Sign-up Form
Due to a mix up in dates, no bikes were serviced today. Dr Bike will, in fact be visiting school next Friday (26th June).
SAVE THE DATE – Wednesday 15th July at 3.30pm – St Anne’s Park Playground
Please join other Sun Class families in an end-of-year social at the playground.
Phonics
Next week, we will focus on letter 'f'. We'll listen for the sound letter 'f' makes by saying the alliterative phrase 'The floppy flower falls.' When writing the letter, we'll use the cue ‘Down the flower and across the leaves’.
Resource Payments
If left unpaid by this coming Wednesday, the school will send written reminders to parents with an outstanding amount. A huge thank you to those parents that have settled any outstanding amounts throughout the year.
Reminder - Many thanks to the parents and carers who have sent in photos ahead of our enquiry 'How have I changed?' There is still time to send some in if you haven't. Please email in to class emails (mars@stannesinfants.co.uk or earth@stannesinfants.co.uk) or upload to Tapestry 3 photos: one of your child as a baby, one as a toddler and one from before your child was born/joined your family - previously parents have sent in pregnancy photos/baby scans, photos of older siblings from before the child was born or pictures of houses that mum and dad lived in before they had children. These photos will really help the children to talk about their past life experiences and build an understanding of how they have grown and changed. Many thanks for your help in advance.
