Weekly update for Parents & Carers of children at St Anne's Infants
Well done to all of the children in this exceptional weather. Next week looks warm and pleasant, but not intolerably hot.
As we still have a couple of days of extreme heat going into the weekend, please remember to do whatever you can to keep children cool and steer away from over-exertion. Advice is available here: Beat the heat: staying safe in hot weather - GOV.UK .

We know that families are often asked to contribute to school trips, end-of-year collections and many other activities, and we are hugely grateful for the support you already give. We believe this project will make a lasting difference to the daily experience of children at St Anne's for years to come.
SAVE THE DATE – Wednesday 15th July at 3.30pm – St Anne’s Park Playground

Phonics
Next week, we will focus on letter 'l. We'll listen for the sound letter 'l' makes by saying the alliterative phrase 'The long leg leaps.' When writing the letter, we'll use the cue ‘Down the long, long leg'.
We are delighted to invite you to our Year 2 Leavers Performance on Thursday 16th July 2026 at 2:00pm. This special event is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the children's fantastic achievements and memories before they take their next big step. Due to strict capacity limits in the school hall, attendance is limited to 2 spaces per family. Please secure your places as soon as possible by completing our online form. Please also note that, unlike in previous years, there will be no picnic after the performance concludes.
As part of our celebration, we are looking toward the future and asking the children about their dreams. Please chat with your child this week to find out who or what they want to be when they grow up. We kindly ask that you help them prepare a costume or a simple prop that symbolises this job for the performance.
There is absolutely no need to spend lots of money on this. A simple home-made prop, a small accessory, or everyday clothes that represent their chosen career will be absolutely perfect. If you need any support at all with providing a costume or a prop, please do not hesitate to contact the school team, as we are very happy to help.
