School meals are encouraged as soon as nursery children are attending for full days, and can be ordered and paid for on MCAS (My Child at School). Nursery children are also able to bring a packed lunch, if preferred.
Each day there is a choice of hot meal, including a vegetarian option as well as the option to have a jacket potato or pasta with tomato sauce. The menu can be found on MCAS and dietary requirements can be catered for; please see the school office to discuss this further.
Please make sure the contents of packed lunches are nutritionally balanced - do not include sweets or chocolate bars. All children are provided with water at lunch-time so there is no need to pack a drink, other than your child's water bottle.
Fruit is provided for all children at break-time but children are also able to bring a pot of fruit or vegetables to school to eat at mid-morning break as an extra or to add variety to their 5 a day.
Milk is provided for children under five.
All children are encouraged to bring a water bottle which they can access during the day. Bottles should be filled with water only - fizzy drinks, squash or juices are not permitted unless by agreement with your child's teacher.
Please note that in order to promote healthy lifestyles, children are not permitted to bring in sweets or cakes on their birthdays. You are welcome to bring in fruit or other small treats such as stickers, pencils etc.
