The little red hen, we had a visit from a hen and cockerel, made our own bread, retold the story using small world props, made our own little red hens and printed using vegetables, these are just a handful of exciting activities we did.
As part of anti-bullying week, Nursery read the book 'Simon Sock.' It was a story about friendship which highlighted the importance of similarities and differences. The children were able to use the book to explore different feelings and they used playdough to create faces showing a range of emotions. They also had fun designing and decorating their own pairs of socks and enjoyed pairing together pairs of socks from the washing pile.
The gingerbread man - We had lots of fun retelling the story of the gingerbread man, creating our own story maps, making our own gingerbread man with collage materials and saltdough. We printed gingerbread men using gingerbread man cutters in brown sugar, ginger and cinnamon...it smelt gorgeous. As well as continuing to develop our knowledge of numbers to 5, exploring numerals and how to write them, as well as exploring different ways to make numbers up to 5. We had so much fun doing these activities and many many more.
