In Term 2 we will be settling into our daily routines and beginning to spend longer periods on the carpet during our phonics and shared reading sessions. Our enquiry will be "How do we celebrate?" The children will be discussing different types of celebrations and how they may have experienced these within their own family and community life. 

In Phonics, we will be building on the sounds we learnt in Term 1, alongside exploring new sounds including some digraphs. We are also beginning our shared reading sessions, where the children read through a text as a class on a daily basis before they bring it home to share with you on a Friday. 

In Maths we will continue to build on the children's subitising of numbers up to 5, as well as deepening their understanding of number composition and different representations of number. We will also be comparing amounts and recapping our counting skills to 10. 

In PE, we are exploring different gross motor skills including climbing, scooting, jumping and some basic sending and receiving skills. These sessions will take place every Thursday so please send your child to school in their PE kit on these days.
