Window Wanderland is a walking arts trail that is coming to the local area between 23 – 25 February. Homes and local businesses will decorate their windows and / or gardens for the public to view between 6 – 9pm. The school is taking part and Laura from Colourful Minds is working with other parents and the children to create displays for the windows on Bloomfield Road. She is also holding a community workshop in school on Saturday 10 February 10.30 – 12.30pm where you can get ideas for displays and even make a start on them.
It would be wonderful to get as many people as possible involved and here’s how you can help…
Display a poster in your window to promote the event, sign up and take part at https://windowwanderland.com/event/arnos-vale-18/, go on the trail and enjoy the creativity in the community!
Mrs Nicholson has arranged for us to have a Clothing Bank which was delivered this morning and is now located in outside the KS1 building. We can accept any clean and dry clothes, paired shoes, bags, belts and soft toys that you no longer want. The bank will initially be emptied every two weeks – the more we collect, the more money we raise for the school!
We cannot accept pillows and duvets, bric-a-brac or plastic toys. Please ensure that you supervise your child when putting items into the bank and please do not put any rubbish into it. Thank you!
During the STEAM days at the end of Term 2, all the children took part in cross-curricular learning opportunities around the theme of ‘Colour’. The activities incorporated Science, Art, Maths and English. Last week, children from Nursery through to Year 2 had their work displayed in a public exhibition at the Paintworks. One of the governors and I had the pleasure of going to the opening of the exhibition and I felt a huge amount of pride in seeing St Anne’s Infants’ work amongst that of other schools. For most children it will be the first time their work has been exhibited in public – what an achievement and moment to remember!
The photos below are a snapshot of the work from different schools.
Following last term’s nominations, I am pleased to inform you that Pat Carlyle, Rabica Adan and Jo Partridge will be joining the governing body this term as parent governors.
