St Anne's Infants' School

Reach for the Stars

Key Stage 1 Team

Katie Mercer

Teacher - Venus

Hello! My name is Katie Mercer and I have taught in both Year 1 and 2 and in a mixed year group in both Taunton and Bristol. I first decided to get into teaching when studying for my degree in English language at Kings College London. I was really interested in how language is acquired and how children learn so decided to complete my PGCE in my home town Taunton. I moved to Bristol 2 years ago and love being part of a vibrant city community. In my spare time I am a huge book worm and an avid cycler. I also love travelling and experiencing different cultures. I have been fortunate enough to visit lots of Europe, India, Cambodia, Malaysia and Thailand.

Kelly Mason

Teacher - Mercury

Hello, my name is Mrs Mason and I am lucky enough to teach with Miss Griffin in Mercury class. I have taught at St Anne’s for a long time now and I spent a while working in reception, so I love seeing how the children grown and learn as they move into Year 1. At home I live next to a gorgeous park and spend a lot of time exploring nature there with my family. I have a little boy at home and a gigantic cat (who is very cheeky!). I enjoy music, art, dancing and wildlife. I visit Cornwall often and just love playing on the beaches and learning how to body board.

Kathryn Rackham

Teacher - Mercury

Hello, I’m Mrs Rackham and I’m very happy and excited to be joining the Year 1 team and be part of St Anne’s this September. Most of my teaching experience has been with Reception children but I have taught other year groups including Year 1. I enjoy seeing what each new day brings, watching children interact as they learn and play, explore, problem solve and make links with their learning. Before I became a teacher I studied Art. I love arts and crafts activities and like to bring creativity into the classroom. In my spare time, I enjoy yoga and pottering in my garden, going for walks and discovering new places with my family. My personal aim this year is to use my sewing machine more!

Jessica Baker

Teacher - Neptune

I have worked at St Anne's Infants' School since September 2017 having previously taught for three years at another Bristol Primary School. A little bit about me...In my spare time I enjoy travelling the world and visiting different countries and cities. I love the sun so I am always in search of some sunshine! Holidays are the perfect time for me to delve into a good book. I enjoy socalising and spending time with my family and friends exploring new places.

Alice Griffin

Teacher - Year 1

Hello, I am Miss Griffin and I have been a teacher since 2005.  I have had the privilege of working with children through from Nursery through to Year 6.  Most of my time at St Anne's Infants' has been as a Nursery teacher and I am now lucky enough to be part of the Year 1 team. Outside of school, my young son keeps me very busy.  We spend a lot of time outdoors playing, scooting, walking and camping.  He is a source of constant inspiration and gives me lots of creative ideas to bring into the classroom.  I also love to keep fit and healthy through yoga, running and exercise classes!

Sophie Beaumont

Teacher - Pluto

Hello, my name is Mrs Beaumont and I teach in Pluto Class.  smiley I have worked at St Anne’s Infants’ School since June 2012. Throughout my time here, I  have enjoyed teaching both Year 2 and Reception and my favourite subject to teach is Maths. At home, I have a little girl who always keeps me very busy. We enjoy going on walks and finding the perfect spot for a picnic.

Lottie Park

Teacher - Pluto

Hello, my name is Mrs Park and I’m excited to be joining St Anne’s this year on a Wednesday afternoon, Thursday and Friday in Pluto class. I’ve lived in Bristol my whole life but spent most of my teaching career at a small school in Bath where I taught Nursery children through to Year 2. I love outdoor learning  and being as active as possible in and out of the classroom.

My free time is spent with my husband and 2 children enjoying cycle rides and walks in the country or movie nights at home with Harry Potter!

 Nicky Weech

Teacher - Saturn

Hi, I'm Nicky Weech, and I am in school Mondays and Tuesdays.  I have worked at St Anne's Infants' School since I qualified as a teacher, rather a long time ago and have relished teaching across all year groups within the school in my time!  I love to go camping with my husband and two lovely daughters, Poppy and Flora- who keep me on my toes!  Speaking of being on my toes, I am a keen runner/ walker, and try to make sure I walk over 30 miles per week.

Kate Watts

Teacher - Saturn

Hello I'm Kate Watts and I am in school Wednesday to Friday. I have worked at St Anne's Infants' since 2008 in Nursery, Year 1 and Year 2.  Before working at St Anne's I taught in a tiny school in Cornwall for 2 years and before that at Frampton Cotterell Primary for 4 years, always in the infants or early years. In my spare time I enjoy camping with my husband and little girl, gardening and listening to live music when I can!

Alice Tomlinson

Teacher - Jupiter

Hello, I'm Miss Tomlinson. I've been teaching for 7 years in Bristol and abroad. I've spent the past 4 years teaching in Abu Dhabi which was a great experience and allowed me to travel to lots of different places. In my spare time I enjoy exercise, reading and spending time with my friends and family.

Tiffany Brown

Teacher - currently on maternity leave

Hello, I'm Miss Brown. My teaching career began in Leicester where I studied for my PGCE in 2012. I then taught in a school in Leicester for three years before joining the St Anne's team in 2016. No day is the same when you are a teacher and that is what I love most. It certainly never gets boring! Outside of work, I have a cheeky little boy who keeps me very busy!

Anna Herbert

Hello there, I'm Anna Herbert and I've worked as an LSA at St Anne's for 6 years, mainly with the Year 1 and 2 children. I also supported a child with cerebral palsy for her 3 years at our school which I found very rewarding. I have two daughters who keep me pretty busy as well as various pets and I also love to be active and being outside. I can often be spotted out rowing on the stretch of river that runs along St Anne's and past Beese's. Keep an eye out for me next time you're having a walk on the towpath!

Andrea Murray

Hi, I'm Mrs Murray and I've been a Teaching Assistant at St Anne's since 2012, working in Year 1 and 2 as well as Reception. I originally qualified as a secondary school teacher but found I really enjoy working with younger children, particularly watching their language skills grow as they learn to read and write and discuss their ideas. I also really like reading, children's books and adult ones! Outside of school, I have a husband and two sons who enjoy football, rugby, and karate, we love exploring beaches and are looking forward to heading back to Wales in our tent.

Zu Davies

Hello, I’m Mrs Davies.  I joined St Anne’s after volunteering as a parent helper when my now teenage children were much much younger!  As an LSA, I have worked in both Reception and Key Stage 1.  I love working with young children and relish seeing and sharing the world through their eyes. In my spare time I am an avid reader, a nature lover, (and a bit of a forager), and an admirer of beautiful old buildings.  I also have an interest in holistic health and really enjoy good food and eating out.

Jen Owen

Hello there, I’m Jen Owen and I’m an LSA in Year 2. I originally qualified as a teacher in 2007 and worked at a school in Easton until 2015 when I became a stay-at-home parent to my three young children. Since then I have invigilated GCSEs and A-levels and marked key stage 2 SATs. In my spare time I volunteer with the homeless charity St. Mungo’s and help to organise a homeless outreach group. I also enjoy getting out into the countryside and exploring with my family.

Chris Warren

I have worked at St Anne's for nearly 20 years in a variety of different support roles. I love getting to know the children and seeing the progress they make. In my spare time, I enjoy getting out into nature, walking in the woods, but most of all, I relish the time I get to spend with my granddaughter in Devon.
