Mathematicians
This term the children will be looking at number, addition and subtraction. They will be adding and subtracting using two 2 digit numbers by using resources such as dienes and number lines to support them.
Writers
The children will be working on the following skills in their writing this term:
Spellings
In spellings this term, we will be learning about homophones and Year 2 Galaxy words. We will also be using strategies such as proofreading, dictation, "have a go" and "which looks right?"
Enquiry
Our enquiry this term is called "What can my pencil pot be made of?" and focuses on the Engineer state of being. The children will select from and use a range of tools and equipment to perform practical tasks (such as cutting, shaping, joining and finishing). They will select from and use a wide range of materials and components according to their characteristics.
Computing
By creating an advert, the children will use technology purposefully to create, organise, store, manipulate and retrieve digital content.
PSHE
The children will be exploring the unit "Celebrating Differences" this term in PSHE. They will identify ways in which we are different from one another and think about why we value these differences.
Music
We will be enjoying learning the unit "Ho Ho Ho" using the Charanga music scheme. We will be singing, playing instruments and practicing performing!
RE
In RE, the children will be studying the units "What does it mean to belong to a faith community?" and "how and why do we celebrate special and sacred times?"
PE
This term, we will be learning the skills of co-ordination and balance. We will also be focusing on the key skills of working with others, turn taking and sharing throughout our lessons.
