Year 2 Information

Year Two is a busy and learning-filled year, where children continue to develop a whole host of skills as well as their growth mindset!

Here is some important information to support your child's time in Year Two.

Reading books:  Please read with your child as often as possible, ideally 3 times a week.  Reading books are changed by the children once they are confident with the text. 

It would be helpful if you could write a brief comment (this could simply be the date and title of the book) when you have heard your child read so we know they have read with you.

If they need a new book please remind them to change their book once they’re in school. 

Common exception words: We will focus on different words each week. Please practice these words with your child – reading and writing them. 

PE:  Children should come to school wearing clothes and footwear suitable for PE on their 2 PE days. These are
