Jupiter class have loved our enquiry ' What can park equipment be made of ?' First we visited the park to discover what materials the equipment was made of. Next we were Scientists and explored different materials to help us decide why certain materials had been used in the park. Finally we loved being Engineers and making our own mini park!
19.11.21: Pluto Class enjoyed being engineers, making their prototypes of their pieces of park equipment. After making their product a first time, they evaluated it before adapting and making changes. They then evaluated their second prototype before making their final product. They then tested the strength of their prototype by seeing if it held a Lego model! Look out for photos of our celebration next week when we will be building a huge park!
Year 2 attended a virtual Zoom with Jeff Kinney, the author of 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid'. We then had a go at drawing his famous character, Greg!
9.11.21: Year 2 had a lovely trip to Arnos Court Park this morning as part of their enquiry learning. As scientists, the children identified the different materials each piece of park equipment is made from and as engineers they identified how the materials are joined together.
4.11.21: Pluto Class had a wonderful morning, with Magnetic Maggie from 'Fun Science'! As Scientists, the children learnt about how fires and fireworks are made as well as being able to take part in some fun experiments themselves!
